1. Review by Ahmed Gulen

1970 was very good year for Elvis Presley. He gave a total of 57 shows at International Hotel during summer 1970. MGM made a movie this season titled "Elvis, That's The Way It Is". Many CD's are released earlier from this season. This LP was made in Spain in 1986 by the Live Archives label under the title 'A Dinner Date With Elvis'. Featured is the dinner show from 20 August 1970.

Cover
This album features a great cover. The front cover is including three Elvis photos and Las Vegas Hilton Souvenir Menu from January 1973 season. Back cover includes the track list, a fan review from Spain about 1970 season and an Elvis-photo from August 1970 season.

Content
Unfortunately this show is only audience-recorded and some tracks are missing. But the sound is clear. Elvis came on stage while the TCB band played the opening vamp. First of all, he sang his first hit 'That's All Right'. After this song he quickly started 'I Got A Woman' and 'Tiger Man'. You can hear him say "Good evening Ladies And Gentleman. Welcome to the Landmark", after finishing the song. Elvis usually joked several times before 'Love Me Tender' in early 1970's. But 'Love Me Tender' is missing on this album. You can only hear the intro to this song. You can often hear fan comments during the show. 'I've Lost You', 'I Just Can't Help Believing' and of course 'Polk Salad Annie' are very good versions. 'Polk Salad' is the last song A Side this album (LP).

Side B begins with the ultra rare performance of 'Sweet Inspirations'. This song has been taken from the midnight show the same day. After 'Heartbreak Hotel' Elvis performed a good version of 'Memphis Tennessee'. The running time is only 40 seconds, but The King sung it great. He then sang several classic hits after that and closed the show with - of course - 'Can't Help Falling In Love'.

Conclusion
If you like Elvis' 1970 concerts this album is ideal for you. Elvis was great, he sang wonderfully and he again proved his nickname 'The King Of Rock And Roll'
