"Yes, they can!"
(short review by Michael Sander)

The latest FTD soundboard releases had some minor problems about editing and the correct speed. This release was an answer from FTD to all the criticism and has one big message: We learned from our mistakes.

In terms of sound it is one of the best soundboard releases ever! The speed is correct on both CDs, but the focus lies definitively on CD-1. In terms of both sound and performance it is superior to CD-2, which still is a pretty nice bonus.

Concerning the October 2 performance, Elvis is in a really good mood. Vocally he doesn't hit the same high notes as in March 74, but he adds some special kind of humour to the show, that makes it a lot of fun. We are certainly entertained. Elvis seems a little bit "speeded up", so the fast songs include a lot of tempo and action.

A welcomed bonus are the really nice performances of 'You Gave Me A Mountain' and 'It's Midnight'.

So I would like to shake hands with FTD for this great release.

There have been many people working on the FTD projects over the last 20 years for over 200 releases. So we should really appreciate their work, making our dreams come true, instead of putting them down over some tiny mistakes.

Notes:
Some additional information about the recording date of CD 1: I received a note from Keith Flynn about an Elvis fan, who visited both St. Paul shows and told him, that Elvis didn't record 'American Trilogy' and another song on Oct. 2, but he did on Oct. 3. Given further information by a newspaper article and the fact, that there is no Oct. 2 show listet in the RCA vaults, it can be assumed, that the show was recorded on Oct. 3. I guess, this minor mistake is accetable.
