1. Review by Ken Jensen

The title says it all, really, and so does the cover shot. This CD contains eight tracks from Elvis's February 23, 1970 Closing Show in Las Vegas, and it's pure dynamite with an enigmatic, fun-loving artist in great mood. Elvis plays the piano on an excerpt of 'Blueberry Hill' and on a full version of 'Lawdy, Miss Clawdy', which is a killer. He then plays the guitar on a raw 'One Night' and a lovely 'It's Now or Never'. This must have been one hell of a show to attend. Unfortunately, this is the closest I'll ever get to a time machine. Well, I'm not complaining, not complaining at all. The rest of the tracks are taken from rehearsals in Culver City July 15 and July 29, 1970, both of which were filmed by the MGM crew. These tracks are laid-back and cool, with some great lyric changes. I love rehearsals, because they show a different side to Elvis. This is the unguarded King.

Although all of the tracks here are now available elsewhere, this is still a more than worthy addition to anyone's collection, so make sure to track down a copy if you can.
