1. Review by Ken Jensen
This is an audience recording taken from Elvis's last visit to Portland, November 26, 1976. The show is extremely long and runs for almost eighty minutes. The setlist is pretty standard. There are only two slightly unusual things about this concert: a) Elvis sings 'Hawaiian Wedding Song', 'Blue Christmas' and 'That's All Right' after 'Funny How Time Slips Away', then wraps up the show with his standard closing number; b) Sherrill Nielsen is allowed to ruin 'Danny Boy' and 'Walk With Me' with his, in my opinion, poor excuse of a singing voice. No offense, all you Nielsen fans out there. It's me; I simply cannot stand listening to him any longer, not when he's doing his solo numbers.
Elvis is having a good day, meaning this is a show above average. He seems to be enjoying himself on stage, and he should. He has just lost a lot of weight and is looking better than in a long time. The sound quality is no more than average. This is a CD for hardcore fans only, and it should be owned either for historical reasons or for the sake of completeness—or both. As for the rest of us, this is one that will not be played too often.
